In the beautiful countryside of the Cairngorm National Park, this luxury guest house has been awarded 5 stars by VisitScotland and 5 Gold Stars by the AA in 2009.

Ard-na-Coille offers luxury accommodation and stunning views. It is in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and ideally located for skiing, sightseeing, walking, golfing or for a romantic break. Highland Wildlife Park is 10 minutes away and has a polar bear.

Ard-na-Coille featured in the popular Monarch of the Glen BBC TV programme as Glenbogle Golf Club. Many cast members stayed in the guest house during filming.

Hotel Information

Built in approximately 1920 for Sir John and Lady Cargill, Ard-na-Coille is a stunning former hunting lodge which retains many of its original features, including a beautiful original sandstone fireplace.

Ard-na-Coille featured in the popular Monarch of the Glen BBC TV programme as Glenbogle Golf Club. Many of the cast members stayed in the guest house during the filming of the series.

Surrounding Area

Newtonmore is situated in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, surrounded by the Cairngorm, Monadhliath mountain ranges and the River Spey. It is one of the most beautiful areas of the Scottish Highlands. The Highland Folk Museum is 500 metres away.

Local outdoor pursuits include: golf, fishing, pony trekking, deer stalking, skiing, water sports, Highland games, bird watching, mountain biking and walking. You can also visit distilleries, castles and the steam railway.

Transport

From Glasgow:
- Take the M80 to Stirling then the A9 to Perth.

From Edinburgh:
- Take M90 to Perth.

From Perth:
- Take the A9 north for Inverness, then the slip road to Newtonmore (A86).
- We are opposite the Highland Folk Museum, with electric entry gates.
