Stroud Bear Of Rodborough

Built 300 years ago, this former coaching inn is set in a National Trust land, with views over the town of Stroud. It offers an award-winning restaurant and 3 bars.

The Bear of Rodborough Hotel is ideal for country walks and it is a 10-minute drive to Stratford Park. The towns of Cirencester and Tetbury are a 20-minute drive away.

Located in the oldest part of the building, the Box Tree Restaurant at the Bear has kept its original archways and has views over the common. Fine food made with local produce is served. Traditional dishes are served at the Grizzly Bar; the Cocktail Lounge and the Garden Room are also available.

The bedrooms at the Bear hotel are all unique and decorated in warm colours. They all have a bath and a shower and some of the rooms have views over the countryside or Woodchester valley.

Transport

By Road From Junction 13 of the m5- Take the a419 to Stroud. Once in Stroud follow the signs to Rodborough. Keep going up the hill, across a set of traffic lights and once at the top, turn left at the t junction. The Bear is on your right. From London - Take the M4 to junction 15 and then the A419 signposted Cirencester. Follow this road through Cirencester until you see a sign for Minchenhampton on the left. Follow this road through Minchenhampton and up to Rodborough Common. The Bear can be seen on your left.

Restaurants

The award-winning Box Tree Restaurant. The restaurant is located in the oldest part of the building with the original large archways dating back to the coaching inn days. The decor is soft, rich colours with fine views over the common.
