Built as a prestigious hotel by a local tradesman in 1934, the Cliff Head Hotel has been under private ownership for many years. Perfectly located on a private road in Carlyon Bay, directly opposite the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Just 3 miles away is the stunning Eden Project, the world's largest greenhouse with its vast array of plants, providing beautiful colours year round. Just 9 miles away are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a garden of beauty set in 200 acres which were created and maintained by the Tremayne family for generations and was featured as a live wildlife location by the BBC. The town of Charlestown with its Shipwreck Centre museum is only 2 kilometres away and the city of Truro with its cobbled streets, historic cathedral, delightful little craft shops and flea markets is only half a hour's drive away. Transport
By Car:
- From the M5, take the A30 towards Oakhampton and Bodmin.
- Continue towards Truro and Redruth.
- Turn left onto the A391 through Bugle, towards St. Austell.
- At the T-junction, turn right onto the A390 towards St. Austell.
- Just before entering St. Austell, Carlyon Bay is signposted to your left.
- Go under the railway bridge and turn left at the mini-roundabout.
- Sea Road is the next turning on the right.
