With a Grade II listed, mid-18th century building at its core, this well-placed country hotel has a rich history.
Set amid attractive country grounds, surrounded by the North Wales countryside and the Cheshire Plain, Rossett Hall offers comfortable rooms and modern business facilities in tranquil surroundings - just a short drive from both Chester and Wrexham.
Hotel Information
Rossett Hall is situated amid private grounds in the attractive village of Rossett, with its 2 working water mills. The hall itself was built in 1750 by future Mayor of London James Boydell, who was at this stage Sheriff to the local Harwarden estate, belonging to the family of future prime minister William Gladstone. The site has since hosted prime ministerial visits, and was also - according to local legend - where Lord Nelson courted Emma Hamilton when visiting the area.
The house boasts an ornate sandstone cantilever staircase, which was designed by a Flemish architect who was captured during the Napoleonic war. The central hall has since been respectfully expanded to incorporate a wide variety of modern facilities.
The 3 easily accesible conference suites have ample natural daylight. Each is equipped with an OHP, flip chart and audio-visual equipment. Varying sizes mean the hotel can offer a tailored solution to any occasion - the Allington Suite, for example, can easily accommodate up to 100 dinner party guests. Wedding parties are a speciality of the hotel.
The hotel's restaurant-bar, 'Oscars', is fully air conditioned and serves only freshly prepared food.
