- Take the Skye bridge crossing from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin.
- Portree is approximately 35 miles from Kyleakin.
From Glasgow:
Follow the A87.
From Inverness:
Follow the A82.
By Ferry :
Caledonian MacBrayne run car and foot passenger services from Mallaig to Armadale as well as Uist/Harris to Uig.
There is also a small privately run ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea.
By Train:
The train arrives at Kyle of Lochalsh from Inverness where there is a coach transfer to Portree via the Skye bridge. There is also a rail service from Glasgow via Fort William to Mallaig connecting with the Armadale ferry.
By Coach:
There are regular services to Skye from Glasgow and Inverness.
