A little further on, through the cobbled main street, takes you to the town centre and the Prince of Wales pier, from which ferries offer harbour crossings to St Mawes and regular boat trips run along the coast and up the River Fal.
A pleasant easy walk or a scenic drive takes you around the headland, crowned by Pendennis Castle, with wonderful views across the bay all along the way.
