Iceni House was converted from a family home into this 7 room bed and breakfast in November 2002, by the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn. Colin and Michelle are highly experienced in hospitality and pride themselves in the individual design of their home. You will receive a warm welcome from your hosts, who will attempt to make your stay as comfortable and pleasurable as they can.
The house is maintained to an excellent standard of decor and cleanliness.
Why not enjoy use of the fully-fitted guest kitchen; each room has its own locked cupboard with all you need to prepare meals/snacks (food not provided). The kitchen is available 7 days a week between 11:00 - 21:00. Guests also have their own large comfortable lounge area with children's toys and play-pen for infants, available 7 days a week between 09:00 - 21:00. The house is also able to offer a guest dining area - available 7 days a week between 11:00 - 21:00.
Surrounding Area
Coleridge Road is situated in a residential area. It is a quiet road, located just off the ring road, convenient for the city centre, railway station, Addenbrookes Hospital and all other major attractions. The house is seconds away from a park, which has an outdoor paddling pool (free of charge), children's play area, a bowling green and tennis court.
Iceni House is also situated near a main bus route which runs regularly into the city centre, railway station and Addenbrookes Teaching Hospital. Buses run from the end of the road into the heart of the city, every 5 minutes during peak periods. Iceni House is minutes from the ring road.
If you enjoy walking, the historic city centre and main shopping area is a leisurely 20-minute walk. Within walking distance of Iceni House are numerous places to eat, as well as a friendly local pub and many coffee shops, stores and other outlets. Also within a 10-minute walk is the new Cambridge Leisure Park, which has a 28-lane bowling alley with an arcade, various food outlets, an LA Fitness gym and a fantastic multi-screen cinema with bar.
Transport
Iceni House is located in Coleridge Road, situated on the favoured south side of the city. It is easy to find, being located just off the city's ring road.
By Rail:
Iceni House is a 10-minute walk or short taxi ride away from the railway station. Trains run to and from Cambridge regularly, from major airports and cities, including London.
By Car:
All directions exclude pedestrian and pelican crossings.
From A14 (Huntingdon)/M11:
- Take the M11 and exit at junction 11, following the signs into Cambridge.
- Turn right at the 5th set of traffic lights into Long Road.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn left into Hills Road.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Cherry Hinton Road.
- At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn left into Coleridge Road.
- Iceni House is approximately 360 metres (400 yards) down on the right-hand side.
From the A14 (Newmarket):
- Take the A1303 into Cambridge, until you come to a roundabout.
- Go straight over the roundabout into Newmarket Road.
- At the next roundabout, turn left into Barnwell Road.
- At the next roundabout, go straight over into Brooks Road (passing Sainsburys on the left).
- Go straight through the traffic lights and continue to the next roundabout.
- Take a right into Radegund Road.
- At the junction, turn left into Coleridge Road.
- Iceni House is approximately 360 metres (400 yards) down the left-hand side.
Parking:
Iceni House has a car park which holds 3 or 4 vehicles. When the car park is full, there is ample parking on the road outside of the property, with no restrictions in place.
Restaurants
Breakfast is taken in the bright and airy dining room. A choice of cooked full English breakfast is given alongside a large range of continental produce. A small garden area opens up from the dining area where you may wish to take your breakfast during the warmer months.
As well as the dining room, you are invited to request breakfast in your room, a continental option is placed in a fridge to be taken at leisure in the morning.

If arriving before 13:00, there will be someone to meet you. After this time, there is a 24-hour self-check-in facility (you must contact Iceni House before arrival if you want to use this).
