Hotel Kings Head description

Overlooking the Market Square in the small town of Masham, this charming inn is set within a fine Georgian building of tremendous character, built in the second half of the 18th century.

A quintessential English town, Masham lies peacefully on the River Ure on the outskirts of Ripon. It houses quaint almshouses and holds traditional markets twice a week. Established in Saxon times, its beautiful church was mentioned in the Domesday Book.

The King's Head has been carefully renovated to combine traditional Georgian splendour with modern day comforts. To truly relax, during the winter you can take advantage of the real wood and coal fires, whilst in the summer the terrace is the perfect place for a refreshing drink.

Hotel Information

In its time the King?s Head has been combined with a Posting House and surprisingly, an Excise Office. It has recently undergone a sympathetic refurbishment of the bar, restaurant and the 23 letting bedrooms.

For business events and special occasions, The Royal Coach House conference room, located in the rear courtyard of The Kings Head Hotel, is the perfect venue. The room is beautifully furnished and offers all the state-of-the-art equipment in conjunction with private washroom facilities and a utility kitchen; it has an external private entrance and is also licensed to hold civil weddings. It has a capacity of 25 people.
