The Moss Grove Organic offers 5-star guest accommodation, designed to be both luxurious and environmentally friendly. The spacious en suite rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and Bose Entertainment systems.
The Victorian building retains its period charm but has been updated throughout. The renovation work used eco-friendly and natural products from clay paint to sheep?s wool insulation.
Many of the large beds are hand-made from reclaimed wood and feature duck down duvets and pillows and 100% cotton sheets.
Fair trade tea and coffee and organic biscuits are available in the rooms, whilst under-floor heated bathrooms have spa baths and organic toiletries.
Moss Grove serves a Mediterranean buffet breakfast using organic, fair trade and local produce. Free on-site parking is available.
Located in Grasmere village centre, just over 500 metres from Grasmere Lake, Moss Grove Organic is in the heart of the Lake District. The property is a 10-minute drive from Thirlmere or Lake Windermere.

Natural organic clay paints were used throughout; Thermafleece (sheep's fleece) was chosen for internal insulation; the original windows were replaced with identical handmade hardwood sash windows - double glazed to achieve current heat loss regulations; and reclaimed stained glass was used in the skylights.
Furthermore, new plumbing and wiring were installed; fire regulations were implemented to exceed requirements; 98% efficient boilers chosen; the mains water pressure was upgraded; and a filtration system installed to remove chlorine and pesticides from the water.

- Follow the A591 past Kendal, through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal.
- Turn left into Grasmere at the roundabout.

- Exit at junction 40.
- Follow the A66 to Keswick.
- Follow signs for the A591 to Windermere.
- Turn right into Grasmere at the roundabout.

By Train:
Travel to Oxenholme on the London Euston to Glasgow line. Local trains from Oxenholme to Windermere approximately every hour. Taxis available at Windermere.
On Foot or Cycle:
Follow the coast-to-coast route to Grasmere (shown as a dotted green line on the map of Cumbria above left).
Restaurants
