The Isle of Arran can be reached by ferry from Ardrossan - the island has its own distillery, cheese-making and chocolate factory, Arran Aromatics and other cottage industries.
There are several parks catering for children within driving distance, such as Loudoun Castle Theme Park and The Heads of Ayr Farm Park.

By Car:
From England:
- Take the M74.
- Join the A70 (signposted for Ayr) from here, the journey takes approximately 1 hour.
- Then, as below.
From north of Carlisle:
- Take the A76, which is a more scenic route but takes longer.
- On the A70, after passing through the village of Coylton, approximately 10-15 minutes later you will pass Dobbies Garden Centre; at the next roundabout turn right and follow signs for Prestwick Airport.
- At the next roundabout follow signs for Prestwick (B 743).
- Go straight through the next 3 sets of traffic lights.
- At the fourth set of traffic lights turn right.
- You will now be on the main Ayr/Prestwick road (A79).
- Then, as below.
From the North within Scotland:
- Follow signs for Glasgow and A/M77.
- Follow signs for Kilmarnock and Prestwick Airport.
- After by-passing Kilmarnock and travelling approximately 10-15 minutes you will approach a roundabout to the north of Prestwick - at this roundabout follow signs for Prestwick Airport (A79).
- In the centre of Prestwick town, take the road signposted for the Rail Station and seafront (Station Road/Links Road).
- Take the last turning on the left before reaching the seafront (Ardayre Road) and the hotel is situated 30 yards along this road on the right.
Restaurants
Lunches and evening meals are served in Restaurant 1933. You can also choose to have your meal served in the Lounge Bar, overlooking the seafront. All meals are freshly prepared using the finest local produce.
The hotel has a well stocked lounge bar with a variety of malt whiskies available.
If you are leaving the hotel before 07:00 (08:00 on Sundays) a continental breakfast will be served, thereafter a cooked breakfast is available until 09:30 Monday-Saturday (till 10:00 on Sunday).
