The family-run 4-star Pier View is located next to the high street and a 5-minute walk from Central Train Station with its direct services to London. Central Bus Station is also 5 minutes away.
The A127 and M25 motorways are easy to access, as is Southend Airport, less than 15 minutes' drive away. Surrounding AreaDuring your stay you can easily explore all that Southend has to offer, including beautiful sandy or stony beaches, picturesque Old Leigh, filled with small boats, characteristic pubs and cockle sheds, or the many other family friendly attractions. On the seafront you will find Peter Pan's Playground, filled with rides and fairground attractions, whilst a little further up is mini-golf and the Sealife Centre. Please note there is no lift at Pier View. Rooms on the top floor: 'Cliff Top', 'Pier View' and 'The Retreat" are accessed by steep stairs.
When booking for 5 nights or more, different policies and additional costs will/may apply.

This beautifully refurbished room is decorated in relaxing shades of blue. The room is full of character and features its own original Georgian fire place. Set on the second floor at the front of the property, the room enjoys fantastic views of the pier, the estuary and the cliffs.
This room is named after Princess Caroline, who stayed on Royal Terrace during her visit to Southend, after being advised to bathe in the sea by her practitioner.
The room can be set up with 1 king-size double bed or 2 twin single beds. Please inform Pier View of your preference on the day of booking, using the comments field when making your reservation.

Named after the Pier and property, the Pier View room (room 9) is located at the very top of the building and enjoys stunning views out towards the famous landmark, the cliffs and the estuary. The room also features its own small Georgian fire place and a king-size bed.

The Lord Nelson Suite consists of one room with a double bed and a separate sitting room, joined to the bedroom by a short hallway.
The sitting room has a large sofa bed and a small kitchen unit with a microwave and the necessary plates and utensils.
The bathroom includes a bath with hand shower.
The room also includes 2 state-of-the-art LCD televisions (1 in each room), free Wi-Fi and a Playstation 2.
Please note that although the suite is located in the basement it has natural daylight in both rooms. The sitting room also looks out onto a small pretty courtyard.
The room is named after Lord Nelson who visited Southend, as did his mistress Emma Hamilton, in 1803 and again in 1805.

It is named after Sir William Heygate, the Lord Mayor of London during 1882-1883, who was chief promoter of the Pier and instrumental in securing the building of it.
