Surrounding Area

Ambleside is right in the heart of the English Lake District, situated at the northern tip of Windermere, England's longest lake. Whilst in Ambleside, why not explore some of the many shops, or visit Bridge House, a National Trust property and probably one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District.

A region made famous by poets such as William Wordsworth, the English Lake District boasts spectacular scenery, which can be enjoyed all year round, and a number of excellent and award-winning tourist attractions, including lake cruises on Windermere from Waterhead Bay.
