Southview is one of the few small private guest houses to boast its own heated indoor swimming pool. The pool is kept at a constant 82 degrees and measures 8 metres by 4 metres (24 foot by 12 foot).
Whatever the weather, come rain or come shine, the pool is a tempting option and the pool leads straight out onto the south-facing sun terrace.
There is an outdoor smoking area available for guests' use.

The South Lakes has a wide and varied list of attractions and activities available to visitors, with something to suit all tastes, ages and abilities. The region offers everything from A to Z, from abseiling to Zoos, as well as just about everything in between. Outdoor pursuits dominate the activities available, ranging from walking and horse riding through to mountain biking and sailing.

Transport
By Car (from the M6 motorway):
- Leave the M6 at junction 36, taking the A590 following the signs towards Kendal.
- This road then turns into the A591.
- This road will bring you into Windermere.
- When you reach Windermere, turn left at the junction, following the signs for Windermere town centre. It is a big junction with a Natwest bank on one corner, and the train station and Tourist Information Centre on the other.
- Cross Street, where the guest house is located, is then a quick turning into the 2nd street on the left. There is a Chinese restaurant called Golden Mountain on the corner of Cross Street.
- Be careful not to miss the turn, as if you do, you will find yourself in the one-way system.
- Cross Street is a cul-de-sac and you will find the guest house right at the end, tucked in on the left-hand side.
By Train
Come out of the railway station and proceed towards the town centre, keeping to the left. Cross Street is the 2nd turning on the left. Proceed to the end of this road and the guest house is on the left-hand side.
Restaurants
Full breakfast is included in the price at Southview and includes the following,
Fruit Juice, Assorted Cereals, Grapefruit Segments, Full Cooked Breakfast, Tea or Coffee and Toast.
A vegeterian cooked options is also available with 24 hrs notice.
Important
- There is no lift at Southview Guest House.
- Please note that the Residents Bar and Indoor Pool is closed from 18:00 on Tuesdays.
- Double parking may be required during busy periods.
