The Stansted Guest House is only a 3-minute drive from Stansted Airport. Rooms include en suite bathrooms and overnight free parking.

Located between the village of Takeley and Stansted Airport, set in 3 acres of Essex countryside, this is the closest off-site accommodation to the airport. The hotel is not under the flight path.
Stansted Train Station provides excellent access to London and the historic city of Cambridge can be reached in just 30 minutes.

London Liverpool Street station is only 45 minutes away via the Stansted Express train or alternatively, the historic city of Cambridge can be reached in just 30 minutes.

Transport
By Car:
If using satellite navigation systems, the guest house is between postcodes CM22 6PU and CM22 6PT.
- Take junction 8 off the M11 motorway (not the new airport slip road).
- Head towards Takeley on the B1256.
- After 3.2 km (2.5 miles) turn left at the traffic lights.
- Follow this road for 1.6 km (one mile). The guest house is on the left.
- If you reach a small roundabout at the entrance to the airport, you have gone too far. Go around the roundabout and come back on yourself by 800 metres (half a mile).
From the A120 from Braintree:
- Take the B1256 to Takeley.
- After 4.8 km (3 miles) turn right at the traffic lights.
- Follow this road for 1.6 km (one mile). The guest house is on the left.
- Remaining directions are the same as above.
By Foot:
You can make this journey on foot in 15 minutes (there are no paths within the airport boundary for the first 5 minutes). Make your way downstairs to the short-stay car parks and turn right to the red car park. Walk through the red car park to the far right-hand corner, cross over the road to the mini roundabout and you will see the sign to Takeley. At the roundabout, take the exit to Takeley. At the mini-roundabout, turn right (footpaths start here). Walk for 1 kilometre (10 minutes). The guest house is on the right. Please note that the route is along a country road that is not lit when dark.
Rooms including Airport Transfer (one evening and one morning transfer):
Between 16:00 and 23:00, and 06:00 and 10:00 (every hour, on the hour). Outside of this period, taxis are available (at an additional cost).
If your room does not include transfers, they can be booked for GBP 4 (per room, per journey). Subject to availability (pre-booking is advised). Available as above, except not before 08:00 or on Thursday.
Transfers are only available only in the morning on the 24 and 31 December. No transfers are available on the 25 and 26 December, or 01 January.
Please collect your luggage first, then telephone the guest house to book yourself onto the next available transfer. You must telephone at least 10 minutes before the next hour's transfer. Make your way to the bus station.
Restaurants
The guest house offers a self-service breakfast, which is available from 06:00. This includes white toast with a selection of jams and marmalade, cereal, orange juice, tea and coffee.
Stansted Guest House does not offer evening meals, but there is a pub that serves food, either a 15-minute walk (country road, not lit) or a cheap taxi ride away. The pub offers traditional pub food until 20:45 (limited menus on Sundays and Public Holidays).
Stansted Airport has a number of places to eat, if you prefer to eat before you reach the guest house.
Important
Stansted Guest House is not open 24 hours. If you arrive outside of the published check-in period, you will not be able to enter.
Strict opening and closing times: 16.00 - 23.00.
We are unable to accept children under 8 years old.
Up to one week before your stay, the card given will be preauthorised with the value of your booking, or GBP 100, whichever is greater.
Stansted Guest House will add GBP 5 to all payments by credit/debit card. American Express is not accepted as payment.
The guest house is strictly non-smoking. Fees are charged to those who do not follow this policy.
All cars parked at the hotel for more than one night are taken to an off-site parking area. Car keys must therefore be left at the hotel before departure.
