Surrounding Area

Charlestown is a historic Port 1850s and still has old tall boats harboured in the port. The harbour often used in film productions due to this famous fleet of ships.

There is a golf course within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. Bike hire and trails can be found within one mile and horse riding can be arranged. Fishing and clay pigeon shooting is also available in the surroundings.

Transport

The Beeches nearest airport is Newquay approx 16 miles away.
The railway and main bus station is situated half a mile away.

By Car:
- Take the M5 to Exeter.
- Join the A30 until just after Bodmin.
- At the big roundabout, turn left onto the A391, which heads south and is sign posted St. Austell.
- Continue on this road until you reach a roundabout in Stenalees, turn left.
- At the next mini roundabout, turn right.
- Continue straight over the next mini roundabout immediately after (do not turn left towards the Eden Project - always follow the St. Austell/A391 signs).
- You will now be presented with a magnificent view of the sea as you come down into St. Austell Bay, as well as 4 roundabouts each about half a mile apart. Go straight over at all of these roundabouts.
- You will then come to a major T-junction with traffic lights and this is the A390, turn right.
- Continue straight along the A390 heading towards St. Austell.
- Go through 2 sets of traffic lights.
- Pass Holmbush inn on right-hand side.
- Follow the road through until you reach third set of traffic lights (P@D Hire on the left; Tesco on the right).
- Turn left at the third set of traffic lights.
- Follow the road up to the bridge (mini roundabout).
- Turn right at the mini roundabout.
- Follow the road down until you reach the junction, then turn left.
- This will bring you in to Charlestown.
- Follow the road down past the church to the end of junction.
- Turn right, heading towards the sea.
- Approximately 200 yards further along on the left-hand side you will see The Beeches sign.

Restaurants

Each morning, the chef will fix you a smoothie while you discuss what you want whipped up for your breakfast.

The restaurant serves classic food from Cornish cream teas in the gardens, or a hot buttered toasted tea cake by the roaring log fire, to mouthwatering lunches like fresh scallops and king prawns, with a drop of Chablis or Sancerre.

The Devine Restaurant lounge welcomes both residents and non-residents, serving lunch from 11:30 - 14:00 and cream teas and sandwiches from 14:00 - 17:00.

From 19:00 - 21:00 you can dine from the a la carte menu.
