Ilfracombe itself has several small attractive beaches, yet is only a 5-minute drive away from the sandy expanses of Woolacombe, Croyde and Sauton - a haven for surfers, body boarders, kite surfers and the bucket and spade brigade. The town offers a wide variety of activities, including sea fishing, golfing, quad biking, horse riding and walking (including the Tarka Trail and the Coastal Path).
Ilfracombe has a host of bars, bistros, restaurants and pubs offering a variety of nightlife to suit all tastes. There is also the Landmark Theatre, which offers a choice of plays, bands and films throughout the year.
The guest house is only a 10-minute drive from the naturally beautiful scenery of Exmoor National Park.

- Take the A361 to Ilfracombe.
- As you enter Ilfracombe via the A361 from Mullacot Cross, you will see The Dorchester Guest House. The guest house is situated right on the A361, as this road becomes St Brannocks Road.
By Train:
Ilfracombe is a 30-minute drive or bus ride from the nearest train station, which is at Barnstaple.
By Coach:
National Express run regular coach services into Ilfracombe.
By Air:
The nearest airports are at Bristol and Exeter.
