Originally a magnificent private residence, this Victorian house, with lovely garden, was built in 1850 and provides quality accommodation with en suite facilities. Many original features have been retained in the rooms.
The owners are particularly proud of their extensive breakfasts, which include locally farmed bacon, sausage, and free-range eggs. Quality fresh fruit and vegetables also complement a range of superior teas and coffees. The Grange has a policy of supporting overseas producers by offering Fair Trade products wherever possible.
Keswick, with the River Greta flowing though its centre, provides a superb range of facilities for visitors, including award-winning theatre, access to lakeside walks and 2 lovely parks. Superb cafes and restaurants offer everything from the perfect espresso to full gastronomic menus and a good range of vegetarian, wholefood and ethnic choices.

Transport
By car:
From the M6:
- Exit the M6 at junction 40 and take the A66 westbound, towards Keswick.
- Exit at the 1st opportunity for Keswick and you will encounter a T-junction.
- Turn left and drive about 500 metres up the hill.
- There is a right-hand turning, signposted Castlerigg Manor.
- Take this and The Grange is just a few metres down the hill on the right-hand side.

The owners are happy to be as flexible as they can with regards to breakfast arrangements, special diets, check-in and out times and luggage storage.
The guest house is not normally considered suitable for children but the staff will of course make special considerations where necessary. Please contact the guest house directly for more information.
For our guests peace of mind, we do like to secure the building at around 23:30 each night.
