Under new management, The Hardinge Arms is a beautiful 16th-century Inn in the South Derbyshire village of Kings Newton. The traditional inn offers home-cooked food, real ales and free Wi-Fi.
The elegant bedrooms are set in a converted stable block, and each has a modern bathroom, flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. All rooms have a private entrance and mini-fridge.

The Hardinge Arms is located in the village of Kings Newton, about 20 km south of the Peak District National Park, and 10 km from Derby city centre.
Besides the beautiful countryside, there are many other local attractions and towns to visit in the surrounding area.
Calke Abbey (5.5 km) - Visit this early 18th century Derbyshire country house and its immaculately kept grounds. The house remains quite unchanged since it was left by its last Victorian inhabitants.
Donington Park (4 km) - One of the UK's leading motor racing venues is close by, where you may see the British Superbike Championship or car racing.
Transport
By Car (from the South):
- Follow the M1 motorway, heading north.
- Follow the signs for the East Midlands/A50.
- Merge into the A42.
- At the Ashby Road roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Ashby Road (A453).
- Head straight on (1st exit) at the next roundabout.
- Continue onto Walton Hill.
- Take a right turn at Isley Walton.
- After about 3 km, turn right at Main Street.
Restaurants
The pub serves hand-pulled real ales and offers a warm and welcoming environment. Stone floors, log-burning fire, comfortable sofas, fresh coffee and a selection of newspapers and magazines all add to the relaxed feel.
The pub opens Monday to Wednesday from 18:00 till 23:00. It also opens during Thursday to Saturday from 12:00 till 14:00 and again from 18:00 till 23:00. On Sundays the times are 12:00 until 16:00.
The restaurant opening times are 18:00 until 21:30 (Monday to Wednesday); 12:00 until 14:00 and then 18:00 until 21:00 (Thursday to Saturday); 12:00 until 14.30 (Sundays).
The restaurant offers honest home cooking at realistic prices. All food is cooked to order and uses locally sourced fresh produce. Weekend reservations are highly advised.
A generous full English breakfast is served from 07:00 until 09:00 every morning.
