The picturesque cottage is 6 miles (10 km) from Dartmoor and 5 miles (8 km) from Torquay. The rail station is close by.

Minadab Cottage is unable to accommodate very young children.

The cottage was originally built in the early 19th century as a home for Robert Young, as successful Commander in the British Royal Navy.

It is said that a secret tunnel runs from the cottage's cobbled wine cellar to the beach.
