With its beginnings dating back to the 14th century, the Old Vicarage must certainly have a few stories to tell. Today the property retains much of its original character and yet offers all of the modern conveniences you'd expect from a hotel in the 21st century. Our 14 guest bedrooms are all en-suite and have direct dial telephones with modem ports for the busy business traveller. The Old Vicarage is a non-smoking establishment. On-site parking is also available. In Bridgwater town there are a number of good restaurants, pubs and plenty of shopping. Although we operate on a mainly bed and breakfast basis. Our café is open 6 days a week from 10:30am to 5pm and 6:30pm to 9pm for residents. Bridgwater is perfectly situated near junction 23 & 24 of the M5 motorway which is ideal for those travelling on business. The town is also central to all of Summersets' most famous attractions such as Wells cathedral, Cheddar Gorge, Exmoor National Park, Dunster castle and much much more.
As a smaller property we do our best to offer most of the facilities you will find in a larger hotel; however please read the hotel policies to ensure that we are able to meet your individual requirements.
Transport
From either junction 23 or 24 of the m5 follow the signs for the town centre then where the a38 and a39 meet on the corner of the Broadway and the Taunton road, follow the signs for 'Local Traffic' which take you round to St Mary Church. The Old Vicarage is on the left hand side, opposite the church's ornate gates.
Restaurants
As a town centre establishment, the Old Vicarage Hotel is conveniently situated close to a large number of pubs and restaurants. For guests who prefer to eat at the hotel, an evening meal service is available from Monday to Saturday up until 9pm. During the day time, our cafe operates between 10:30am & 5pm with freshly made coffee and home baking. Light lunches are also available.
