We are ideally situated for the city centre either by use of the frequent bus service or a brisk 1 mile (ca 1.6km) walk. Thrums is constructed from two large Georgian houses; many of the rooms retaining fine period features and are all tastefully decorated to a high standard. Location is on the leafy south side of city centre near to many local amenities including the Royal Commonwealth swimming pool, University, as well as Holyrood Park and Palace and the Edinburgh Castle. To see Edinburgh at its best it is advisable to leave the car in our private car park. Transport
By car from the SouthWest - turn off the a74 at Moffat. Follow the a701- a7 - City Centre. When on the City Bypass continue until you reach the Sherriffhall roundabout, take the turn marked City Centre/A7 /Newington. Follow road straight in to roundabout then follow sign a7 Centre - Newington Hotel 1/2 mile on right.
