Hotel Tredethy House description

In peaceful grounds and countryside, Tredethy House is a relaxed, elegant English country house built in the Tudor period. It offers spacious en suite bedrooms, many with garden and woodland views.

An organic continental buffet is served for breakfast and includes Italian ham, cheese, fresh local bread, warm croissants and pastries, homemade organic muesli, jams, fresh fruit salad and homemade organic yogurt.

The country house is in an area of outstanding beauty and a 15-mile drive from the Eden Project. Lanhydrock House and Gardens are about 5 miles away.

Tredethy House was the home of Prince Chula of Thailand until the late 60s. Today, the 7 acres of grounds at Tredethy Country House host beautiful, colourful plants, trees and flowers all through spring, summer and autumn.

Hotel Information

The cosy, country feel of a lived-in house is effortlessly achieved by the ?layering? of furniture and objects inherited by this building over the years. In addition, charming informal pieces of continental and painted furniture have been brought in by the present Italian owners. Relax and unwind amid the surprising unpretentiousness.

Surrounding Area

The north and south coasts are no more than half an hour away, ideal for morning coffee in Padstow, sailing in Fowey, and a drink and dinner in Rock or Port Isaac.

The Camel Trail (one of the most charming and varied bicycle and walking trails in the county) is literally on our doorstep. Bodmin Moor with its ancient, primitive landscape and wild horses is not far away.

The small town of Wadebridge is also close by, and is a buzzing place to stroll, shop and have a bite to eat. Some of the most majestic stately homes and gardens of Cornwall are also close by, like Lanhydrock House and Gardens, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We are also an excellent base for visiting the Eden Project.

Restaurants

We offer a mouthwatering, continental, organic breakfast buffet, where all products are shortlisted from small local farms and organic producers. Where the food is not sourced locally, you will find it is a speciality.

A typical breakfast buffet will display warm croissants, cereals, bread, butter and the best jams and marmalade, a divine freshly made fruit-salad, delicious yogurts, boiled eggs, gourmet Italian ham and cheese, juices and fresh milk. Breakfast is served from 08:30 to 09:30.

The bar is also open in the evenings.
