Ye Olde Anchor Inn, set in the medival town of Ruthin, offers the perfect spot to spend a night whilst touring North Wales.

The 18th century inn, with its low ceilings and oak beams, used to be a stopping place for drovers on their way from Holyhead to Shropshire. Now there's always a welcome from the owners Stephanie and David. Since they took over Ye Olde Anchor Inn in June 2003 they have transformed the accommodation and established a reputation for quality cuisine.

There is so much to do locally at all times of the year, spectacular scenery, mountains, waterfalls, cascading rivers, canals, steam railways, slate mines, ancient history, industrial history, historic buildings, excellent walks for all ages and fitness and much more besides.

North Wales also has a spectacular coastline and it is all so easily accessible using our hotel as a base. Do not forget that Llangollen, as well as hosting The International Eisteddfod every July, is also the festival capital of Wales, with events at The Royal Pavilion throughout the year.

Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in our oak-beamed cosy bar, divided into 3 sections, the bar, with it's log fire, offers a warm welcome. There is an extensive bar snack menu available during lunchtimes and evenings.

We have an excellent reputation for serving fine food at modest prices. Everything is cooked to order by our team of chefs from fresh ingredients, delivered in daily - you really will appreciate the difference in taste. We use only the best local produce with Welsh Black Beef and Welsh fresh lamb raised in animal friendly free-range conditions.

We offer a choice from our daily table d'hote 3-course menu or you can choose from the a la carte menu, either way you will find a choice of dishes to appeal to every taste.

Our head chef is always happy to cater for any special diets or preferences given sufficient notice.
